Record Breaking News

They've done it!

Without it having been the aim of their expedition, the team has already earned themselves a place in the "Russian Book of Records".

The photograph shows Evgeny Kovalevskiy in conversation with Mr Alexey Svistunov who met the team in Walvis Bay on behalf of the Guinness Book of Records.  


Mr Svistunov, however, is also editor-in-chief of the Russian Book of Records and it was Mr Svistunov who had decided to consult navigation logs and other authorities and was therefore able to inform the team, shortly before their departure from Walvis Bay, that they were the first ones ever to have rounded the Cape of Good Hope on an inflatable trimaran, thereby earning themselves a place in sailing history.

This communication came in from the delighted team shortly after they got underway this afternoon, the three noses of the trimaran already sniffing the air for the shores of Brazil ...

    May we please have daily positions and any kind of report you can manage via their sat phone?
