Yes, there has been an injury.
On arrival at Walvis Bay's jetty Captain Anatoly unfortunately slipped and ended up with two broken ribs. He won't be doing the Salsa for a while!
On a more positive note: Tempest - impassioned bilge rat - has been officially appointed to assist with PR for the Energy Diet team's press conference to take place in Walvis Bay in the next few days!
A representative from the Guinness Book of Records - Russian and World Edition - is already set up at the Swakopmund Hotel and Walvis Bay is buzzing with news of the team's presence there.
Since the team's arrival in South Africa they have crawled into the hearts of many and inspired us with their endeavour and the dedication shown to their quaint boat!
From an initial lukewarm reception in Durban - in fairness, they did arrive unannounced! - doors had been opening to them; in East London they stayed with relatives of a PYC sailor, Hout Bay were stunning in their support and making their club house, boat yard and other facilities available to the team.
As was the case in Hout Bay, the generosity of the Walvis Bay yacht club has been overwhelming: Yacht club officials went out on a boat to meet and escort the trimaran to their berth and the club also offered to pull the boat onto their lawn and provide guards to watch over their equipment while the team prepared for the final leg in this stage of their Trip Around the World on Three Balloons. The club is currently assisting the team in many ways - most importantly, providing a venue and local publicity for the coming media event.

She still needs a bit of work ...
Raymond - local star of the video of the team's "surf" into
Hout Bay - and invaluable ally in doing repairs to the trimaran's frame
