Brand New Jackets - Africa says good-bye

This information came through from Walvis Bay in the course of the day; apologies for posting it slightly out of sync but it deserves to appear at the top of the blog for now.

The generosity of the Walvis Bay community towards the trimaran crew was unconditional and heart-warming in every sense of the word: The message and photographs below tell the story; it was received from Marion Bausch, Honorary Secretary of the Walvis Bay Yacht Club:

Hey Karin   Ok, the night before they left, we had a spitbraai at Michaels house together with other Russians and friends incl Alexey. Anatoly made a traditional Russian dish, that with every bite needed a tot of Vodka.....I guess there is no need to tell you about the hang over's the next day, as we also only crawled into bed at 2am.... So at about 14h30 the next day they left, there was such a lovely turn out, about 60+ people, some of them having slipped away from work, again, the vibe was so great. With lots of hugs and kisses between everyone, but then Anatoly got tears in his eyes,and that had a near "fatal round about effect" on us, it was very hard for them to say bye to us. I had contact with them till 6am Saturday morning, when they went out of range. At that stage there was little wind but I guess by know that would have changed a little.   The club is also turning 50 yrs old over the Easter weekend, and as a fare well gift, we gave them commemorate jackets with their names on, incl their nick names, to the utter delight of the men. Obvioulsly: Anatoly - Captain               Jack               Jurie               Gorgeous - this came that in the first hour I could not remember his name and christened him gorgeous, result that everyone in the club and his team mates ended up calling him that, he was tickled pink !!   I will certainly go onto your blog to keep up with all the happenings. Ok, в ночь перед Группа выехала, мы должны были барбекю в доме Майкла, наряду с другими Россию и друзья, среди них Алексеий.
Анатолий сделал традиционные Россию с каждым укусом, которые необходимо принять с небольшой стакан водки ..... Я думаю, нет необходимости, чтобы рассказать вам о висят над следующий день, когда мы просто пошли спать 2 утра ....
Так примерно в 14:30 на следующий день они уехали, там была очень большая группа, около 60 + человек, некоторые из них ускользнула от работы, опять же, Vibe был настолько велик.
С большим количеством объятий и поцелуев между всеми, но потом Анатолий, его глаза наполнились слезами, и это заставило нас плакать, это было очень тяжело для них, чтобы попрощаться с нами.
У меня был контакт с ними до 6 утра в субботу, когда они вышли из диапазона. На данном этапе было мало ветра, но я думаю, что к настоящему времени она изменилась.

Клуб также поворот 50 лет в выходные дни Пасхи, и в качестве прощального подарка, мы дали им память куртки с их именами на, в том числе их ник-имена, они были очень счастливы!

             "красотка",  - это случилось, что в первый час, я не могу вспомнить его имя и крестил его "красотка", результатом является то, что все в клубе и его товарищи по команде, наконец, дав ему это имя, он любил имя!
